Measure starts, completions and inquiries as separate stages of an interactive tour. Define events and denominators before collecting data so clicks are not mistaken for completed experiences or business results.

Translate the objective into actions

For spatial understanding, useful signals may include opening the tour and finding a destination. For inquiries, track progress toward the contact action. Separate learning, interaction completion and commercial outcomes. A long visit may indicate confusion as well as interest, so duration alone should not be treated as proof of success.

Define events and denominators

A start might mean an intentional press of the start button, while completion means all required tasks are satisfied. A completion rate needs starts and completions counted consistently over the same reporting basis. State whether the unit is people, sessions or attempts, and define how repeated clicks and restarts are handled.

Respect visibility boundaries

Actions inside an external viewer require supported integration to be observable on the website. If only the open-button click is available, label it accordingly instead of calling it a successful view. WEDO’s interaction-event analytics require separate configuration and validation; unavailable data should remain unavailable rather than being replaced with estimated traffic.

Distinguish contact intent from delivery

Clicking contact, opening an email application, submitting a form and receiving a qualified inquiry are different events. Opening an email application does not confirm that a message was sent. The service team can record confirmed sources, but a contact click is neither a customer record nor evidence of a completed sale.

Validate before interpreting trends

Run test journeys to verify consistent names, single event triggers and exclusion of names or form text from event payloads. Separate test traffic before comparing similar periods or sources. With small samples, observation and interviews can be more informative than percentages. Improve one identified obstacle, then check whether the journey becomes easier.

A quick commissioning checklist

  • Are events and denominator units defined consistently?
  • Are actions inside the external viewer actually observable?
  • Does reporting separate clicks, submissions and confirmed inquiries?
